Nashua, NH, USA: When visionary operator AirSprint Private Aviation was looking for a way to take aviation safety to new levels, they didn’t look any further than WYVERN’s Flight Leader Program. Proving to be a perfect match of expertise and desire to improve, AirSprint has, in a short 15 months, demonstrated its commitment and has recently been awarded WYVERN’s coveted Wingman PRO certification – the highest certification in private aviation.

Launched in 2018, the WYVERN Flight Leader Program was designed to raise the bar for private aviation safety. Since that launch, dozens of operators worldwide have embraced the progressive concept and realized genuine benefits from the ongoing collaboration at the heart of the Flight Leader Program. Through this collaboration and sharing of operational and leadership best practices, operators like AirSprint can keep moving their safety program continuously forward.

“Safety is woven into every aspect of our company. It is a top priority with every decision or directive, regardless of the initiative’s size or the roles involved,” said Jared Williams, AirSprint’s Vice President of Operations & COO. “Our dedicated team, safety culture, training, standardization, and innovative technology are all part of our continuous improvement mindset. Our elevation to Wingman PRO through the WYVERN Flight Leader Program is a massive step towards continuing to be better.”

AirSprint’s Director of Safety & Quality, Mike Vandermark, adds “We have developed an important relationship with our Flight Leader coach, allowing our team to be open about areas we want to improve and to celebrate our successes. Collaborating with our coach provides new perspectives and solutions to our challenges and allows us to share ideas that have improved safety in our operation.” Vandermark further states, “We encourage all operators to seek a mentoring or coaching relationship to support and benefit their safety programs. For AirSprint, the WYVERN Flight Leader Program provides this in a structured format that is fresh and practical. As an early adopter of Safety Management Systems (SMS), many people have contributed to developing our Safety and Quality program over the years. AirSprint is excited to receive our Wingman PRO status as a great way to recognize the team’s efforts and encourage us to continue on the path of performance excellence.”

The WYVERN Flight Leader Program is about the ongoing collaboration between WYVERN and the operator. Through this collaboration, WYVERN can cross-pollinate best practices learned from other operators. This permits the discovery of new and innovative ways operators can conduct their safety activities, often removing the complexity that can stifle an otherwise healthy safety program.

“We are proud to partner with operators such as AirSprint – an organization that exemplifies what it means to take safety to the highest levels,” said Andrew Day, WYVERN’s Vice President, Training & Certification Programs. “From their entry into the Flight Leader Program, AirSprint has engaged with our team in a transparent and meaningful way, and the true spirit of the Program has fostered collaboration to achieve ever-higher safety performance.” “AirSprint is a thoroughly professional organization,” comments WYVERN Flight Leader Coach Mike Atzert. “With every meeting, their dedication to exemplary management of the full breadth of their safety program becomes more evident. The AirSprint Safety Management Team exhibits thoughtful and cogent safety perspectives combined with a keen interest in new ideas and a great capacity for practical application of safety principles and precepts.”
