SUMMARY:CRM Training Course - Fatigue Management
DESCRIPTION:Effective CRM has prevented many accidents and saved lives in the aviation industry for decades. WYVERN’s CRM training is enhanced with contemporary techniques to improve the learner’s experience and ensure transfer of critical skills. \nThe Need for CRM Training \nInvestigators conclude that more than 70 percent of aviation incidents and accidents involve human error. NASA found that the majority of crew errors consist of failures in leadership\, team coordination and decision-making. CRM is a skill that can be developed where a person uses all available resources (information\, equipment and people) to achieve a desired outcome. CRM is the process to identify threats and take appropriate action to mitigate the associated risks. Using CRM\, aviation professionals can better manage errors\, improve morale\, and enhance operational effectiveness. \nAirline safety studies reveal that 98 percent of all flights face an average of four threats per flight. These same studies show that errors were observed on 82 percent of all flights with an average of 2.8 per flight. However\, with effective CRM\, the majority of errors were well-managed and inconsequential. \nThe ICAO requires CRM programs for all member countries and is promulgated throughout every airline company in each of the 193 ICAO member states around the world. The U.S. Air Force\, among other organizations\, uses CRM for maintenance professionals (aka MRM) to boost communication effectiveness and safety culture in aircraft maintenance organizations. \nWhy WYVERN CRM Training? \nWYVERN’s CRM training is carefully designed and delivered by experienced airline and business aviation instructors who have implemented effective CRM in major airline companies and business aviation companies. The program is uniquely tailored to capture all the essential elements of CRM for pilots\, maintenance professionals\, dispatchers\, and all other aviation professionals. CRM training focuses on group dynamics\, leadership\, interpersonal communications and decision-making. The course is delivered via a webinar and is highly engaging\, enjoyable\, and packed with valuable lessons.

SUMMARY:The Organizational Accident
DESCRIPTION:While a large percentage of aviation accidents are the result of the all-too-frequent Human Error\, you needn’t dig too much deeper to find Organizational influences that played a huge role in allowing the accident to occur. In this week’s session\, we will review an actual accident event and reveal how easy it is to lose sight of the power the organization plays leading up to an accident. Moderating the conversation will be Tom Huff\, Aviation Safety Officer for Gulfstream Aerospace.

SUMMARY:The Cognitively Unavailable Pilot
DESCRIPTION:Distraction\, task saturation\, channelized attention – these can all lead to a loss of situational awareness to airspeed states or trends. Several accidents have shown that insidious airspeed decay happens….and\, lacking timely correction\, unrecoverable rates of descent can develop into loss of control. Joining me will be Andrew Skow\, former chief engineer for Northrop Grumman\, and Tom Huff\, Aviation Safety Officer for Gulfstream Aerospace. Andrew is the developer of a visual & aural multi-sensory alerting system called Q-Alpha which is designed to provide field-of-view\, single source information and can alert a distracted pilot well ahead of a dangerous aircraft state.

SUMMARY:"Is That Defer-able"? How Many Times Have We Heard That One?
DESCRIPTION:Operating with an MEL at your operation?  Many folks don’t fully understand the nature of the Minimum Equipment List – and the difference between it and the Master MEL.  Whether you’re sitting in the pilot’s seat or the maintenance manager’s seat\, the MEL can be a “misunderstood beast”\, and there is often some confusion about what equipment must be operational\, and how to “sign-off” some equipment that may be inoperative so that you can safely – and legally – dispatch your flight. \nOur chief presenter will be Tom Atzert\, President of Leading Edge Aviation Technical Solutions.  Tom is one of the industry’s leading subject matter experts on all things MEL\, having spent decades writing\, administering\, and using MEL\, as well as co-chair of FAA/Industry MMEL/MEL Strategy Group.

SUMMARY:Time - Once Again - to Talk About Preventing Unstable Approaches!
DESCRIPTION:Here’s the scenario – Four business jet runway excursions in five months.  If I were to ask each of those operators if they saw a trend developing in regards to runway excursions\, all four of them would probably say no.  Well\, from where I sit\, I’m seeing a trend.  And furthermore\, guess what pesky causal factor was prevalent in all four events?……yup\, an unstable approach. \nOur chief presenter will be Allan Mann\, Senior Director\, Safety for Wheels Up.  Allan shares my passion for the prevention of unstable approaches\, and will lead our discussion on how we might inspire some improvement during this critical phase of flight. \nSAVE A SEAT \n

SUMMARY:CRM Training Course - Automation Management

SUMMARY:Setting rest and duty\, and its affects on fatigue management
DESCRIPTION:Still following the “rolling-rest” mantra?  Properly setting crew rest and duty is not only key to remain in compliance with regulations\, but it is critical to ensure that flight crews are properly managing fatigue and stay fresh and ready for battle. This often misunderstood (or mis-interpreted) element can stress the culture if not handled just right.  And it’s not just for the 135 folks. \n Chief presenter Jessica Naor and Andy Day will discuss best practices for effectively maintaining compliance as well as fostering a positive quality-of-life.  Jessica is the COO of Wingman operator GrandView Aviation\, and an industry voice on all things rest and duty.
